On Friday, July 10, 2020, Hartford HealthCare held a “topping out” event to commemorate the Bliss Expansion project underway on the campus of Hartford Hospital in Hartford, CT. A steel beam signed by staff and executives was hoisted to the top of the steel framework. The Bliss Expansion plan was well underway prior to the Covid-19 pandemic and remains both on schedule and budget. The new 50,000 square-foot expansion, due to open late summer of 2021, will include the addition of 18 ICU beds, 5 new state-of-the-art OR’s, 3 new MRI’s, and a new pre/post recovery area.
