Hartford HealthCare’s new state-of-the-art HealthCenter in Mystic, Connecticut opened in January. The 3-story, 47,000 square-foot facility offers a variety of services to southeastern Connecticut, inclusive of Primary Care, Concierge Medicine, Cardiology and Vascular Services, Neuromuscular Services, Neurosurgery Services, Pain Management, Movement Disorders Center, Imaging Services, and Hartford HealthCare Rehabilitation Network.
Located along the shoreline of southeastern Connecticut and inspired by the nautical theme of the development, the unique architectural design of the building appears as a slightly curved volume with white, raked horizontal panels suggesting the hull of a skiff, anchored by a distinctive conical beacon tower. The beacon tower which encloses the stairwell, is similar in proportion to the lighthouse at the Mystic Seaport Museum. Clad in a gray metal mesh, the beacon tower has internal lighting that creates a soft glow which makes the building easily identifiable from the highway.
Concord is excited to have provided project management services for the core/shell and fit-out of the new HealthCenter.
